  1. The small porcelain doll sitting on the shelf was given to me by a neighbour. She was born in the 1910’s in Paris and had been given it as a small child. She carefully mended it over the years. The time came when she was downsizing to smaller accommodation and was saddened by what would be with the doll as none of her children or grandchildren wanted it, not seeing its value beyond its cracks. She entrusted its care to me.
